FAQs
At Continuum Physiotherapy & Wellness, you come first. Eliminating the insurance variable allows for a direct relationship between you (the client) and me (the therapist). Whatever we decide is in your best interest is exactly what we will do!
The short answer is: the purpose of the session.
Physiotherapy sessions are designed to target a specific injury, whereas wellness sessions focus on injury prevention, general physical maintenance, and athletic performance.
Physiotherapy and Physical therapy are synonymous, however traditionally physiotherapists have emphasized a hands-on approach including soft tissue mobilization and manual stretching rather than a purely exercise-based approach.
Continuum Physiotherapy & Wellness is not enrolled with Medicare/Medicaid and out-of-network with all commercial providers.
Clients with commercial (i.e non Medicare/Medicaid) plans may request a copy of a receipt or "superbill" which you may submit to your insurance. Depending on your out of network benefits, your insurance may offer some reimbursement.
No. In the state of Georgia, you are allowed "direct access" to a licensed physical therapist for 8 visits for treatment of an injury. HOWEVER, some treatment interventions we offer do require a referral. We will discuss these treatments during your initial visit to determine if a referral is required for ongoing treatment.
The goal of your first visit is primarily evaluation of your limitations and diagnosis of injury. Treatment will be initiated on the first visit and your response to that treatment will help guide future sessions.
